Export to a PST for an eDiscovery search fails in Exchange Server 2019 and 2016

Symptoms

After you install the November 12 security update for Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 and 2016, when you try to export eDiscovery search results to a PST file, the export fails, and you receive the following error message:


Export failed with error type: 'FailedToLoadStatus'

Details: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics, Version=15.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,  PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install one of the following updates:

For Exchange Server 2019, install the Cumulative Update 6 for Exchange Server 2019 or a later cumulative update for Exchange Server 2019.​

For Exchange Server 2016, install the Cumulative Update 17 for Exchange Server 2016 or a later cumulative update for Exchange Server 2016.
