Symptoms

When the Host Initiated Processing (HIP) service is configured to use SNA (APPC) to communicate with an IBM mainframe, the service may stop running when it receives a request from an IBM mainframe application. When this problem occurs, an event that resembles the following may be logged in the Application log:

The fix that resolves this problem is included in Cumulative Update 2 for Host Integration Server 2013.
