Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You use the BizTalk Adapter for Host Applications to integrate Information Management System (IMS) applications on an IBM mainframe.

The connection string that's used by BizTalk Adapter for Host Applications has the UseSsl option set to True to enable encryption.
In this scenario, the BizTalk Server application that is used to connect to the IMS application may encounter a data conversion error that resembles the following:
Event ID: 102Source HIS Application IntegrationDescription:HISETBG0001 Application Integrator has intercepted an exception in method Method_name. Following is the exception description: HISMAGB0035 A data conversion error has occurred when converting from host format to Intel format for member name Member_name of structure Structure_name.
Resolution
Cumulative update information
The fix that resolves this problem is included in Cumulative Update 2 for Host Integration Server 2013 and in Cumulative Update 10 for Host Integration Server 2010.
