Consider the following scenario:
You create an ASP.NET 2.0 Web application.
You create a global resource file. The file name contains the culture name "zh-Hant".
In this scenario, the Web application cannot run. Additionally, you receive an exception error that resembles the following:
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.
Compiler Error Message: CS0101: The namespace 'Resources' already contains a definition for 'xxxx'
Note "zh-Hant" is the new Chinese -Traditional culture name introduced in Windows Vista and in Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 to replace "zh-CHS".
This issue occurs because the Web application does not validate "zh-Hant" as a correct culture name.
