Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You run a Microsoft Project 2010 application that connects to a Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2010 team project.
-
You publish a work item that contains a DateTime field from the Project 2010 application.
-
You open the work item in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, and then you create a copy of the work item.
-
You click Save Work Item to save the copied work item.
In this scenario, the value of the DateTime field in the copied work item is incorrect.
Cause
This issue occurs because TFS 2010 treats the value of the DateTime field as UTC time. Therefore, TFS 2010 converts the value to a local time. However, the value of the DateTime field is already formatted as a local time.
Resolution
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix, you must have Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1‎ (SP1) installed.
Restart requirement
You have to restart the computer after you install the hotfix if the affected files are being used at the time of installation. We recommend that you close all Visual Studio 2010-related components before you install the hotfix.
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.
