Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You install the Microsoft Application Request Routing (ARR) 2.0 or 2.1 module on a computer that is running Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 or IIS 7.5.

You enable the External Cache option when you configure the host name affinity of an ARR server farm.
In this scenario, a client may encounter the "502.4" error code for a client request, and then the client receives the following error message:
No appropriate server could be found to route the request.
