Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You install Microsoft BizTalk 2009 Accelerator for HL7 (BTAHL7) on a computer that is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009.

You create a receive location. You configure it to use the MLLP adapter.
-
The receive location has a custom pipeline component. You configure it to promote some context properties.
-
You do not deploy the property schema that defines the promoted properties.
-
A message arrives at the receive location.
In this scenario, the MLLP adapter does not log any exception, the message is not suspended, and you are not notified of any error.
Cause
This issue occurs because of the design of the MLLP adapter.
When the pipeline component that uses the MLLP adapter calls the Promote method, the messaging engine does not find a property schema. However, the message engine does not explicitly generate an exception. Therefore, the message is not published later in the process.
Resolution
Note To resolve this issue, apply the following hotfix. After you apply the hotfix, BizTalk Server uses HL7 Logging Service to log that the message engine did not find a property schema. Therefore, you must run the HL7 Logging Service if you want BizTalk Server to log an entry when a property schema is not found.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix, you must have BizTalk 2009 Accelerator for HL7 (BTAHL7) installed. Additionally, you must have the following hotfixes installed:
970492 FIX: A BizTalk host instance consumes lots of memory and processes messages very slowly when BizTalk Server 2009 receives lots of HL7 messages
973909 FIX: Event IDs 5812, 5743, and 5754 are logged when you use BizTalk 2009 Accelerator for HL7 (BTAHL7)
Restart requirement
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, you must restart the host instance of BizTalk Server after you apply this hotfix.

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.
