Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You install Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5 on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Additionally, you install one of the following features when you install IIS 7.5:

The IIS 6 Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility feature on a computer that is running Windows 7
-
The IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility role service on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2

You run an application that queries some IIS metabase properties by using the IIS Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) provider. The application repeatedly opens and closes all references that are related to the IIS metabase.
In this scenario, a memory leak occurs in the application and in the Inetinfo.exe process. Therefore, performance may decrease.
Cause
This issue occurs because of an error in the IIS ADSI provider.
Resolution
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix, you must have IIS 7.5 installed on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:

Restart requirement
You must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

To work around this issue, create and maintain one instance of the IIS://Localhost/W3SVC object while the application runs.
