This article describes a problem that may cause priority boosting to fail when you use handle table locks.

An update is available to fix this problem. Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Priority boosting fails when you use handle table locks. This occurs because of a race condition, in  which an internal handle table state is not updated correctly.

The fix is controlled by a FIXUPVAR and is disabled by default. Uncomment the following line in commonfixupvar.bib to enable the fix.

kernel.dll:dwSyncFastLock 00000000 0x00000001 FIXUPVAR
