Consider the following scenario:

  • You try to use a query to read data by using the Microsoft ADO.NET Provider for DB2.

  • The data is stored in DB2 for z/OS V11 as TIMESTAMP(6) WITH TIME ZONE.

When you run the query in this scenario, you experience the following exception:

Type not supported. SQLSTATE HY000 with SQLCODE -343.

More information

After this update is installed, the Microsoft DRDA Application Requester Client for DB2 data conversion functionality is updated to correctly process DB2 for z/OS V11 TIMESTAMP(6) WITH TIME ZONE columns.
