Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have an application that uses the Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 Managed Provider for DB2 to access an IBM DB2 system.
-
The Managed Provider for DB2 is used to call static SQL packages that have parameters or result sets that resemble the following.
CALL STATIC DB2TEST.COLPKG1.CHARTOK1.1(?,?)
In this scenario, you may notice that the memory usage of the application that hosts the Managed Provider for DB2 increases significantly over time. Additionally, the memory is not released while the application is running.
Cause
This problem occurs when the Managed Provider for DB2 does not correctly release column and parameter descriptions when the static SQL package is released.
Resolution
To resolve this problem, apply this hotfix.
