Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You use an application to play an .mp3 file on a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device.
-
The .mp3 file is formatted by using MPEG 2.5 Variable Bit Rate (VBR).
-
The application calls the IMediaSeeking::GetDuration method to calculate the playback duration.
In this scenario, you find that the GetDuration method returns an incorrect value for the playback duration.
Cause
This problem occurs because an incorrect sampling rate is selected while the XING header is being parsed. This leads to incorrect calculations of the file playback duration.
