Symptoms

Assume that you are using EDISend pipeline in Microsoft BizTalk Server and you may notice that the outgoing acknowledgments (ACKs) fail with the following errors:

997's failed: There was a failure executing the send pipeline: "Microsoft.BizTalk.Edi.DefaultPipelines.EdiSend, Microsoft.BizTalk.Edi.EdiPipelines, Version=3.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=TokenID, " Source: "EDI Assembler"  Reason: Message Type 997 is not allowed as part of the Agreement.

TA1's failed: There was a failure executing the send pipeline: "Microsoft.BizTalk.Edi.DefaultPipelines.EdiSend, Microsoft.BizTalk.Edi.EdiPipelines, Version=3.0.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=TokenID, " Source: "EDI Assembler"  Reason: Message Type Root is not allowed as part of the Agreement.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for BizTalk Server:

       Cumulative Update 4 for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2016

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
