STXihei (华文细黑 in Chinese) is a typeface designed for typesetting the Chinese language using the Simplified Chinese script. It is “gothic” (sans serif) style with very little contrast between thick and thin strokes, but with slightly swelling strokes with subtly flared ends. It is suitable for signage, titles, headlines, and advertising.
STXihei was designed by Changzhou SinoType Technology Co. It has only one weight, with no italic style. In addition to Simplified Chinese characters, the font includes Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana, along with a variety of symbols, as well as capitals and lowercase letters for the Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabets, derived from the Century Gothic typeface.
