STFangsong (华文仿宋 in Chinese) is a typeface designed for typesetting the Chinese language using the Simplified Chinese script. It is a “serif” style (Ming or Song) with light strokes, subtle contrast between thick and thin strokes, and a slight angle to the horizontal strokes. It is a popular typeface for posters, packaging, and advertising.
STFangsong was designed by Changzhou SinoType Technology Co. It has only one weight, with no italic style. In addition to Simplified Chinese characters, the font includes Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana, along with a variety of symbols, as well as capitals and lowercase letters for the Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabets, derived from Monotype Garamond.
