How to copy an existing role in Requisition Management for Business Portal in Microsoft Dynamics GP

This article describes how to copy an existing role in Requisition Management for Business Portal in Microsoft Dynamics GP and in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains.

To copy an existing role in Requisition Management for Business Portal, follow these steps:

  1. On the Business Portal Home page, click Site Settings, click Users and Permissions, and then click Manage Roles.

  2. Click the role that you want to copy.

  3. In the Pick a Task area, click Copy a Role to open the "Copy a role Web Page" window.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Type a name for the new role, type a description for the new role, and then click Next.

  6. Assign the appropriate users, and then click Next.

  7. Assign data permissions, and then click Next.

    Note By default, the data permissions are the data permissions of the original role.

  8. Click Finish.

Note Both the original role and the new role must be assigned to the user for the new role to function correctly.
