INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to submit requisitions to different approvers in Requisition Management for Microsoft Business Solutions - Business Portal.

More Information

To submit requisitions to different approvers in Requisition Management for Business Portal, follow these steps:

Step 1: Set up Requisition Management to let users change the approver

  1. Click Site Settings, click Application Settings, click Requisitions, and then click Manage Users.

  2. Click the user who creates requisitions, and then click Modify.

  3. In the Approval area, click to select the Change Approver check box, and then click Save.

Step 2: Set up the approval hierarchy

  1. Click Site Settings, click Application Settings, click Requisitions, and then click Approval Hierarchies.

  2. In the Approval Hierarchy List area, click the approval hierarchy that is assigned to the company, and then click Modify.

  3. In the Approval Hierarchy Details area, click to select the A user or role can be in the approval hierarchy multiple times check box.

  4. Determine the users who will be requisition creators, and then add these users to the approval hierarchy tree. Add these users one level lower than each approver to whom the users will submit requisitions. For example, Pilar Ackerman may submit requisitions to Chris Sells and to Mindy Martin. The approval hierarchy will resemble the following:

    Requisition Administrator (role)

    Chris Sells
    - Pilar Ackerman
    Mindy Martin
    - Pilar Ackerman

Step 3: Set an approver as the default approver for the user

Note You can have only one default approver in the hierarchy tree. The first user who you add to the hierarchy tree becomes the default user. You can determine the default user by the "circle check box" icon that is displayed next to the user's head icon.

  1. In the approval hierarchy, right-click the user under the approver whom you want to set as the default approver, and then click Set as Default.

  2. Click OK.

  3. Click OK to save the hierarchy tree.

Step 4: Create a requisition, and then select an approver

  1. Create a requisition.

  2. On the Purchase Request Details page, click Show More Tasks.

  3. In the More Tasks area, click to select the Submit and send the purchase request to check box.

  4. In the Submit and send the purchase request to list, click the approver whom you want to approve the request.

  5. Click OK.
