How to use American Sign Language (ASL) Avatars in Clipchamp

ASL avatars can be used to add inclusive emphasis to your Clipchamp project for free. A range of digital characters are available to visually express 16 common ASL phrases.

Adding an ASL avatar as an overlay to your video

  1. To start your Clipchamp project, add a video by selecting Import media. A screenshot of a Clipchamp editor's page with a pointer on the Import media button

    Note: You can also create your own video using Clipchamp’s content library.

  7. Adding an ASL avatar in a split-screen layout

  1. Follow the steps in Adding an ASL avatar as an overlay to your video

    Note: You can also drag and drop an ASL avatar to a blank timeline and use it as a standalone clip.

Saving the video

    Tip: For high quality, 1080p resolution is recommended.
