Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a Hyper-V host on a volume that is deduplicated.

  • The deduplicated volume contains one or more virtual hard disk (.vhdx) files.

  • You perform an initial backup in Data Protection Manager to a fully deduplicated .vhdx file.

In this scenario, the .vhdx file reaches maximum fragmentation size, and I/O error 0xC0000427 occurs.

Additionally, the dates and the times may change when you perform certain operations on the files.

Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 file information and notesImportant Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 hotfixes are included in the same packages.
