ISSUE

In REST calendars, when you remove a shared or delegated calendar in which you have edit permissions, it can result in the deletion of the events off of the owner's calendar resulting in a data loss scenario. There is no way for the owner to get those events back when this occurs.

Here's a scenario where this may occur:

  • User A shares calendar with User B and provides User B with edit or delegate permissions.

  • User B syncs down User A's calendar.

  • User B decides they no longer want to see User A's calendar and selects Remove from the menu.

  • In some cases, events are deleted or declined in User As calendar.

STATUS: FIXED

This issue is fixed in build 16.23.1 (19032603) and later. To get the latest update immediately, follow the steps in Update Office for Mac automatically. You can also get it in the Release notes for Office for Mac article.

We recommend installing the update as soon as possible to continue migrating to REST calendars.
