Question: I have my variable allocation account with 2 posting accounts entered as the distribution accounts. Each of these accounts has the same 2 unit accounts assigned as the breakdown accounts. For some reason, the split is always 50/50 instead of what it should be. What should I check? Answer: Go to Cards-Financial-Variable Allocation Accounts

Pull up the Variable Allocation Account that is calculating incorrectly

Click on one of your distribution account lines. Do you see 2 accounts in the breakdown account section? If this is the situation, you will need to assign only 1 account to each distribution account. By assigning both distribution accounts the same 2 unit accounts, you will always end up with a 50/50 split. Either assign 1 account to each distribution account or use only one distribution account. If you do this, you will be able to assign both unit accounts to the distribution account.

If you need to remove one of your unit accounts from the distribution account, click into the breakdown account that you wish to remove. Choose EDIT-DELETE ROW.

By following the guidelines above, your variable allocation account should calculate correctly.
