Warning: The retired, out-of-support Internet Explorer 11 desktop application has been permanently disabled through a Microsoft Edge update on certain versions of Windows 10. For more information, see Internet Explorer 11 desktop app retirement FAQ.
Symptoms
Assume that you use Windows Internet Explorer 11 to go to a webpage. If the webpage uses web workers, and XMLHttpRequest objects are used in the web workers, Internet Explorer 11 may crash.
Cause
This issue occurs because an internal cleanup in the thread for a web worker occurs too early. Therefore, an access violation can occur when the results of the XMLHttpRequest object are returned.
