This article describes update 4464589 for Microsoft Project 2016 that was released on June 4, 2019.

Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see What version of Office am I using?).

Improvements and fixes

This update fixes the following issues:

  • In projects that have many sub tasks under summary tasks and the sub tasks have a lot of work, you may find that the % Complete and Actual Duration values on summary tasks are not displayed correctly. For example, a project summary task that should show 88% complete shows 94% instead.

  • When projects are opened from XML files, custom lookup field values may be read-only.
