This article describes update 4022156 for Microsoft Office 2016 that was released on June 5, 2018. This update has a prerequisite.

Be aware that the update on the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?)

Improvements and fixes

This update includes the following improvements and fixes:

  • When the UI.displayDialogAsync method is called, Outlook 2016 adds the pipe symbol ( | ). However, the pipe symbol is not a supported URL delimiter. This update adds the support for the dollar symbol ( $ ) as a supported delimiter, and the dollar symbol replaces the pipe symbol when the UI.displayDialogAsync method is called.

  • This update reduces resource consumption and latency for Microsoft Dynamics CRM add-ins.
