Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2012 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2012 fix release.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a non-rectangular mining model in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012).

  • You try to execute a query against the mining model by using the Data Mining Extensions (DMX) or Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) language.

In this scenario, the query fails. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

Obtained object of type: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdDataReaderInternal error: An unexpected error occurred (file 'dmdiscoverstructcolumns.cpp', line 833, function 'DMDiscoverStructColumns::SerializeColToXML').
