Applies ToSQL Server 2008 R2 SQL Server ESU

Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.

Symptoms

When you use the Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise OLE DB Provider to connect to a Sybase database in the Import and Export Data Wizard in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or in Microsoft SQL Server 2012, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

Cannot get the supported data types from the database connection "Provider=Sybase OLEDB Provider;Password=;Persist Security Info=True; User ID= ;Data Source= ;Initial Catalog= ;QuotedIdentifiers=True".
