KB2866062 - FIX: Access violation when you use DTA to analyze a database that contains a partition table in SQL Server 2008 R2 or in SQL Server 2012

Symptoms

Assume that you have a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 database that contains a partitioned table. The table has a FILESTREAM column. When you use Database Engine Tuning Advisor (DTA) to analyze the database, you encounter one of the following errors:

  • The DTAEngine process fails with an access violation.

  • The DTAEngine process stops responding at the "generating reports" step.
