Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You apply Cumulative Update 6 for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 to a Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) instance.

  • You open an SSIS project, and you try to make some modifications to the project in Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT).

  • You select several objects, and you try to drag them onto the design surface. For example, you try to position a task on the Control Flow design surface or position a component on the Data Flow task design surface.

In this scenario, the selected objects shake while you drag them, and you cannot position them accurately on the design surface.

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:


Hotfix update package information A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix Download Available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.
