Symptoms
Assume that you have Microsoft SQL Server 2014 installed on a computer and a PowerPivot 2014 workbook in SharePoint 2013. You run a PowerPivot scheduled data refresh job on a PowerPivot data model in the workbook. The PowerPivot data model will not load after the job runs successfully and the slicers do not work in the Excel client. When you try to open the PowerPivot add-in in the Excel client, you receive the following error message:
We couldn't load the Data Model. This may be because the Data Model in this workbook is damaged.
After you click OK, you may receive the following error message:
PowerPivot is unable to load the Data Model.
Notes:
-
The symptoms are only seen in the Microsoft Office Excel client.
-
The "scheduled data refresh job" that is described above is not the data refresh scenario in Excel.
-
This hotfix is only for the SSAS 2014 server in PowerPivot mode.
