Consider the following scenario:

  • You use Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Data Tools to upgrade a Data Transformation Service (DTS) package from an earlier version by using one of the following methods:

    • The SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Package Upgrade Wizard

    • The Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Application.Upgrade() API

  • The package has project-level external connections.

In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

The connection "{XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}" is not found. This error is thrown by Connections collection when the specific connection element is not found.
