Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Data Tools to upgrade a Data Transformation Service (DTS) package from an earlier version by using one of the following methods:

    • The SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Package Upgrade Wizard

    • The Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.Application.Upgrade() API

  • The package has project-level external connections.

In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

The connection "{XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}" is not found. This error is thrown by Connections collection when the specific connection element is not found.

Resolution

This problem was first fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
