Applies ToSQL Server 2012 Analysis Services

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You set a Microsoft SQL Server 2014 database as the data source of a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS) database.

  • You enable Distinct Counts by setting the value of the OLAP\ProcessPlan\EnableRolapDistinctCountOnDataSource property to 1 in the Msmdsrv.ini file of the SSAS instance.

  • You restart the SSAS instance, and reprocess the SSAS database.

In this scenario, the query does not work correctly.

Resolution

Cumulative Update information

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
