Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013 installed.
-
You enable package-level logging in a SQL Server 2014 or 2016 Integration Services (SSIS) package.
-
You use SSIS SQL Server Log Provider for logging.
-
You save and close the SSIS project, and then you reopen it.
In this scenario, when you open the "Configure SSIS Logs" window (for example: on the SSIS menu, click Logging), you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Log provider "Microsoft.LogProviderSQLServer" is not installed correctly on this computer.
Additionally, the drop-down menu under Configuration becomes a text field.
