Summary

This cumulative update changes the permissions that are required in order to execute the sp_readerrorlog or sp_enumerrorlogs stored procedures in SQL Server 2012, 2014, or 2016. If you use either the SecurityAdmin server-level role or the View Server State permission, you can execute the sp_readerrorlog and sp_enumerrorlogs stored procedures.

Update information

This permissions change for the sp_readerrorlog and sp_enumerrorlogs stored procedures is included in the following cumulative update of SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014 SP2

Cumulative Update 3for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2016

Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2014 SP1
