Symptoms
When you restore a database from a striped backup set that contains FILESTREAM data in SQL Server 2012 SP3, 2014, or 2016, you receive error messages that resemble the following:
Msg 3634, Level 16, State 1, Line 2The operating system returned the error '32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)' while attempting 'OpenFile' on file_path.Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 2RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
Resolution
This problem was fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
