Symptoms
When you execute the OPENJSON function in a contained database in SQL Server 2016, an access violation may occur. Additionally, SQL Server may crash.
Resolution
This update is included in the following cumulative updates:

Workaround
To work around this issue, specify a correlation name for the contained database in the query in which the OPENJSON function is used.
