Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • In SQL Server 2016, you create a clustered columnstore index on a table.

  • You run a Select query on the table.

  • The execution plan that's generated for the query contains batch mode operators and a nested loop with a correlated parameter>


In this scenario, a deadlock condition occurs.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:

     Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2016 SP1
