Symptoms

Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services (SSRS 2016). When you run the CleanOrphanedPolicies and DeleteDataSources SSRS built-in stored procedures at the same time, a deadlock may occur.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2016 SP2

Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2014 SP2
