Symptoms
When you export a specific Reporting Services report to a PDF file in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or 2017, you may receive the following error message:
An error occurred during local report processing.
(Processing): Scalable list: Index id outside the allowed range [0::<id-1>]
Note This issue does not occur if you export the same report to another file format, such as a Microsoft Word document (.docx) or a Microsoft Excel Workbook (.xlsx).
Resolution
This fix is included in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
