Symptoms

After you install SQL Server 2016 Analysis Services (SSAS) or SQL Server 2014 Analysis Service in Multidimensional mode, SSAS may crash randomly, and you receive an access violation.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative update 8 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 2
