Symptoms

Assume that you use SQL Server 2017 on Linux. When you connect to SQL Server by using the TCP/IP protocol, a handle leak might occur. Over time, this leak can exhaust the handle table or memory, leading to varied and unexpected behavior, such as out-of-memory errors, unable to open new connections, and so on.

Resolution

This fix is included in Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2017.
