Symptoms

Assume that you have a full-text index on a table that contains very large documents in Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016 or 2017. When you execute a query on the table, you receive out-of-memory error messages that resembles the following:

Error: 30086, Severity: 17, State: 8.
The system ran out of memory while building a full-text index. The batch for the full-text indexing operation will automatically be retried using a smaller batch size.
