This update, when applied through Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), is only applicable to previous versions of SSMS 17.X. This package will fully upgrade any previous 17.X version.

Bug Fixes

General SSMS

  • Fixed an issue in which users may experience their connection being closed and reopened with each query invocation when using "Active Directory – Universal with MFA Support" authentication with the SQL Query Editor. Side effects of such closure included global temporary tables are dropped unexpectedly and sometimes a new SPID is given to the connection.

  • Fixed a long outstanding issue in which restore plan would fail to find a restore plan or would generate an inefficient restore plan under certain conditions.

  • Fixed an issue in the "Import Data-tier Application" wizard which could result in an error when it's connected to an Azure database (DB).
