Symptoms

Assume that you have many partitions in a database object in an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016 and 2017. When you call the ObjectPropertyEx function against the database object that has the property name set to Cardinality, the function returns the row count from the first partition only rather than from all the partitions of the object.

Resolution

The fix for this issue is included in the following updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 13 for SQL Server 2017

Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 SP2

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 3

Each new build for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and security fixes that were in the previous build. We recommend that you install the latest build for your version of SQL Server:
