Symptoms
Assume that you query the Query Store data in SQL Server 2017. When querying the Query Store data, you may receive an Access violation (AV) error. This error occurs due to the corruption of the compressed Showplan.xml file.
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
