Symptoms
Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2014, 2016, or 2017. You notice that the support
for the Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020 (GDA2020) is added to sys.spatial_reference_systems view
in the form of two new spatial reference IDs (SRID values) that resemble the following:
SRID 7843 geographic 3D
SRID
7844 geographic 2D
The two new SRIDs can be used in spatial data and all spatial methods related to geography data type.
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
Resolution
This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
