Symptoms
Assume that you have a tabular model with 1103 compatibility level. When you upgrade the model to 1400 compatibility level, and deploy it to Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Analysis Services (SSAS) by using the same database name and data, you may get the following error:
In addition, you may notice that the database becomes inaccessible and any operation from SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) fails with the following error:
