Symptoms
Assume that you run INSERT statements into EXTERNAL TABLES by using PolyBase or Big Data Clusters (BDC) in SQL Server 2019. You may notice that the PUT operator adds spurious lines to the SQL Server error log at each initialization as follows:
Put operator initializing - ThreadId: %d - region handle %d - DOP : %d - HR: %d
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
