Symptoms
When the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) showplan for Big Data Cluster (BDC) contains a move operation 'ExternalLocalStreaming', SSMS generates an error that indicates XML contains a 'double' and the value is either too big or too small. This error affects showplan through SSMS only, not Azure Data Studio.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
