Symptoms
Assume that you use PolyBase in SQL Server 2019. When you run a query that uses XML PATH, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
Msg 7320, Level 16, State 110, Line LineNumber
Cannot execute the query "Remote Query" against OLE DB provider "MSOLEDBSQL" for linked server "(null)". Unknown type Xml at GetSqlTypeId.
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
