KB4562618 - FIX: Changes to firewall rules created when you install PolyBase in scale-out group configuration in SQL Server 2019

Symptoms

This fix addresses the following two issues related to firewall rule creation behavior when you install PolyBase in scale-out group configuration in SQL Server 2019:

  • For all installations, SQL Server will no longer create firewall rule to open UDP port 1434 if SQL Browser is disabled.

  • For named instance installation, SQL Server will not create firewall rule to open TCP port 1433.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
